S2 – Episode 7: “Love Mama Earth” w/ Regina Hall

We’re celebrating Valentine’s Day 2020 by showing some LOVE for our people and planet! 

In this episode of The Coolest Show on Climate Change, the acclaimed actress and producer Regina Hall (@MoreReginaHall) joins Think 100% co-host, and Grammy-nominated singer and actress, Antonique Smith (@AntoniqueSmith), for a powerful conversation on how we can strengthen our communities and solve the climate crisis. These two amazing “artivists” are two of the foremost women of color in entertainment working towards a just solution to the climate crisis and bringing awareness to the environmental justice movement. 

Hip Hop Caucus (@HipHopCaucus) and Think 100% (@think100show) is teaming up with The Solutions Project (@SolutionsProj) to launch the special episode during Black History Month to highlight the leadership of women, Black & Brown folx, and creatives in the climate movement, and to inspire world leaders to act on the climate crisis.

Known for her roles in the TV show Ally McBeal and NYPD Blue, and films Girls Trip, The Hate You Give, and the Scary Movie series, Regina Hall recently became the first African American to win the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actress for her role in 2018’s Support the Girls. She also is an advisor and donor to The Solutions Project. Since 2019 Regina has used her weekly #WCW post to elevate the work of incredible Black and Brown women who are often underrepresented leaders in the movement. Think 100% Show special host Antonique Smith is an acclaimed actor and a 2015 Grammy nominated singer and writer. She is most famous for her starring role of Faith Evans in the film Notorious and recently starred in the second season of Marvel’s Luke Cage on NETFLIX. A New Jersey native and a Superstorm Sandy survivor, Antonique has dedicated her time to working to addressing the climate crisis on behalf of vulnerable communities. She completed a 20-city “Act On Climate” tour with the Hip Hop Caucus in 2014, traveled to Paris for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP21) as a People’s Climate Music Ambassador in 2015, released her version of “Here Comes the Sun,” featuring Jeremih during New York Climate Week in 2017, and was recently honored by Grist as one of the 50 fixers in the climate space. Antonique is a leading “Artivist” and her efforts are a real-world example of how culture can affect change. Follow Antonique on social media @AntoniqueSmith.
